Granny escape is an Isometric puzzle platformer where you play Granny trying to escape from her foster home. I worked on that game during my internship at Carcajou Games and worked on the Game Design, Level Design, and QA testing side of things.

  • Keep coming up with new ideas to renew the player's experience

  • Finding ways for these ideas to fit with the various skills of my team members and the budget

Level Design Documents

  • RLD

    • Defined what challenges will be in each level​

    • Defined what theme we wanted for each of them

    • Mapped out the player progression, where the player will unlock the new mechanics or face new enemies

  • Quick draft to get an overview of the level that I wanted to make

  • Integration in the engine with the tools created by the programming team and visuals from the art team 

What I learned

  • How to think further and adapt ideas to the game's needs and the available resources in the team

  • Manage QA testing sessions

  • How to polish the player's progression

  • Reporting my progression to my team lead and the rest of the team 

  • How and when to ask for help

  • Adapting to a new work environment
